Finance Infrastructure Assessment
This assessment is designed for founder-led companies that have outgrown ad hoc reporting and fragmented systems — and need a clear view of how mature, reliable, and scalable their finance infrastructure really is.
In 10–15 minutes, you'll score your current infrastructure, identify gaps, and see which tier of support — Strategic Partner OS, Fractional Strategic Finance, EFP System, or Integrated Finance Infrastructure — is most aligned with your next stage.
Simplified IFI Framework
Avithira's Integrated Finance Infrastructure (IFI) framework evaluates your environment across four dimensions:
Data & Systems
How clean, connected, and reliable are your core systems (accounting, CRM, billing, payroll, operational data)?
Reporting & Insight
How consistently do you produce accurate, timely reporting — and does it support real decisions, not just compliance?
KPIs & Decision Architecture
Do you have a defined KPI framework and decision map that leadership actually uses?
Operating Rhythm & Governance
Is there a clear weekly → monthly → quarterly rhythm that ties numbers to leadership actions and accountability?
Diagnostic Questions
For each question, score yourself from 1 to 5: 1 = Not true at all · 3 = Partially true · 5 = Fully true, consistently
Data & Systems
1.Our accounting system is accurate, up to date, and reconciled monthly.
2.Our CRM, billing, and accounting systems are integrated or reliably aligned.
3.We have a clear system map for how financial and operational data flows.
4.Key data is accessible without manual hunting or spreadsheet stitching.
Reporting & Insight
5.We produce a monthly financial package on a consistent schedule.
6.Our reporting is trusted by leadership and does not require "fixing" after delivery.
7.We can quickly answer basic questions about revenue, margin, and cash.
8.Our reporting includes commentary, not just numbers.
KPIs & Decision Architecture
9.We have a defined KPI set that leadership recognizes and uses.
10.KPIs are tied to our business model, not generic templates.
11.We have a clear view of which decisions are on deck and what data supports them.
12.Leadership can see risks and opportunities before they become urgent.
Operating Rhythm & Governance
13.We have a weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating rhythm tied to our numbers.
14.Ownership for financial processes and deliverables is clearly defined.
15.We consistently close the loop on decisions made in prior meetings.
16.Our finance function feels like a leadership partner, not a reporting bottleneck.
Scoring System
Add your scores for all 16 questions. Your total will fall into one of four ranges:
16–32
Fragile Infrastructure
Systems are fragmented, reporting is inconsistent, and leadership is operating with partial or unreliable information.
33–48
Emerging Infrastructure
Some structure exists, but gaps in integration, reporting quality, or rhythm create friction and risk.
49–64
Functional Infrastructure
Core systems and reporting work, but they are not yet optimized for strategic clarity and scale.
65–80
Strategic Infrastructure
Your environment is reliable and supports leadership decisions — but may still benefit from optimization and leverage.
Gap Interpretation Guide
Use your scores to identify where infrastructure gaps are most acute and where investment will have the highest impact.
Low scores in Data & Systems (Q1–4): You likely need system architecture and integration support before any advanced reporting or dashboards will be reliable.
Low scores in Reporting & Insight (Q5–8): You may have data, but not usable insight. Reporting automation and financial package design will unlock clarity.
Low scores in KPIs & Decision Architecture (Q9–12): Leadership is flying without a clear decision map. A KPI framework and decision architecture will reduce noise and reactivity.
Low scores in Operating Rhythm & Governance (Q13–16): Even good data is underutilized. You need an operating rhythm that ties numbers to actions and accountability.
Tier Recommendations
Based on your total score and where your gaps cluster, different Avithira tiers may be the best fit:
Fragile Infrastructure (16–32)
Primary fit: Integrated Finance Infrastructure + EFP System
Focus on system architecture, reporting automation, and a clean executive platform before layering in advanced strategic finance.
Emerging Infrastructure (33–48)
Primary fit: Integrated Finance Infrastructure with optional Fractional Strategic Finance
You have some structure; now you need reliability, rhythm, and leadership-level guidance.
Functional Infrastructure (49–64)
Primary fit: Strategic Partner OS + EFP System
Your systems work; now you can focus on strategic clarity, decision support, and operating discipline.
Strategic Infrastructure (65–80)
Primary fit: Strategic Partner OS or targeted Fractional Strategic Finance support
You're ready to use infrastructure as a lever for growth, capital, or transformation.
Case Study Snapshots
These brief scenarios illustrate how different founders have used infrastructure work to unlock clarity and scale:
Multi-Location Services · $12M
Fragmented systems and inconsistent reporting created constant surprises. After an infrastructure build and EFP System implementation, leadership gained a single view of performance and reduced decision latency.
Regulated Healthcare · $25M
Compliance reporting was strong, but strategic insight was weak. Integrated Finance Infrastructure plus Strategic Partner OS turned finance into a leadership function, not just a reporting requirement.
High-Growth SaaS · $8M
Rapid growth outpaced systems. A focused infrastructure build and Fractional Strategic Finance engagement stabilized reporting, clarified runway, and supported fundraising.
